Classy little unit that puts out a great sound. The hardest part of the whole set-up was the placement of the speakers for the best coverage. I couldn't believe the fullness it pumps out. Bought one and had to return due to a high pitched buzz/humming through all of the speakers every time the DVD drive spun up. Took a chance on a straight swap and the second one behaved itself and performs at least as well or better than a unit priced at that amount should. A bit concerned about the OPEN AIR nature of the DVD drive components as far as dust is concerned.
If you purchased the product online you should be able to download a receipt through your account. If you purchased the item in the store many retail stores can reprint your receipt upon request. You will be asked to finalize the DVD disc when you press the OPEN-CLOSE button to elect the disc. When turned on, the unit takes about seconds before going to set up.

I'm a little concerned that the player itself is a little noisy when the DVD spins up. The unit does come with a one year warranty however so I'm not worried. I would recommend holding onto to the box for a little while just in case. Overall, I am pleased so far and you can really tell the difference when playing a DVD. This theater system is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. Thats what I get for buying a home theater system for $80 though.

Only gripe I have is that there is no volume indicator that comes up showing you what level your volume is on, so when you press volume up or down you just have to listen and see if it is going up or down. I bought this for my office and it works just fine. The subwoofer give some depth but don't expect to "feel" it.

WEll I determined that the resistor, being just part of a noise cancelling circuit, can be removed and the device will power on. The cause of the burned up resistor though, is a blown IC in the amplifier board of the device... A guy there even drew a diagram of the switching power supply on a bottom view of the PCB for everyone to check out... Just noticed a little interesting bit of information, the psb from the rt2870 is labled rt2770, another model of system, perhaps this may be of some help. I looked all over the amber power supply board but couldn't seem to find one with that designation... Commercial Value and Commercial Grade TVs designed with top quality and your bottom dollar in mind.
We only use it for music and purchased it specially for the low price and the ability to connect to a cable box through the A/V input. Had to replace my old system but did not want to replace and rewire my system. Had to make a few terminal adjustments to make the wires connect and the sound only reduces to a 60db level before going silent. In Multimedia mode, the Source button of the cabinet has 2 functions to perform – “confirm” and ” source”.

Easy set up, good instructions, works as advertised. I've never set up a system like this before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. My living room is average sized and after about 30 minutes of tweaking it sounds good to me. Maybe I should classify it as one step above trash. The RCA manuals I've seen do not include schematics. To adjust each speaker volume level for optimum listening experience. Do not let the speaker wires touch each other, it will damage the Home Theater’s amplier. Also, for reference, I'm fairly sure the bottom ring of r202 was gold, the in the center is a dark black ring, could have been black or another color that burned to black. Above that is a burned up ring, one that seems to have been white to begin with as a small area of it facing the transistor is still white. And the top ring is mottled so it's really hard to make a guess of it's original color... Just pulled the bad board, looks like resistor 202, next to a small cap and a transistor on a small heat sink, I'll try to figure out what value it is, it's toasted, but not completely burned off...
